Migrate WordPress Blog to Blogger

It is an easy process to migrate blog from WordPress to blogger in 4 steps documented here. Check out the steps and let us know your experiences.
  • In WordPress go to Tools Export and click on the Export button

  • Choose All Content and click on Download Export file. This will give you an XML file to save to your computer in the native format (WordPress eXtended RSS or WXR format) with all posts, pages, comments, custom fields, categories, and tags.                                                                               This file can be used for loading to another WordPress Blog or conversion to any other blog platform.

  • The file obtained in step 2 is in WXR format. It needs to be converted to a format blogger can read. Hence go to http://wordpress2blogger.appspot.com/ and Load up your WXR file. You will get another file back in blogger format. Save it on your machines.

  •  Now it is time to import this file to blogger. Go to blogger dashboard and click import, select the file you got from. To export your blog, simply click "Import Blog" from the Settings | Other tab in Blog tools

  • Once import file is clicked, read all the options carefully. Do remember that all draft posts from WordPress will also be pulled. Hence it is advisable that you don’t check the box to publish right away. You can take your time to review and publish after the import is completed by going to Posts - Imported.

Know the ball is in your court to decide which blog to delete and which one to keep. If you want to keep both wordpress and blogger blog active then you have to sync them up.

Write us why you have migrated from WordPress to Blogger or ViceVersa.

Difference between CRM and BI

During a recent conference, at one of the organizations Customer Relationship Management (CRM) systems and Business Intelligence (BI) systems were discussed. Though BI and CRM are two different terms, it is a common fact that this systems are often confused because they share a number of the similar functionalities when it comes to processing and analyzing important data characteristics that most organizations can utilize to their advantage. However, there are important differences that distinguish the two systems, which can determine the appropriate software for a particular organization.

CRM
CRM is an entire system that manages all aspects of an organization’s experience that includes marketing, sales, support, and many more. Additional modules for use in human resource, contract management, infrastructure management and many more departments can be built. The data or information from various sources is updated into a single repository that is accessible to approved users of multiple departments within an organization.

Business Intelligence
Business Intelligence encompasses methodologies and tools to spot and analyze data trends. Organizations rely on BI data to understand markets, customer needs, meet regulatory reporting, plan spends and many other customized tendencies. BI tools serve major purpose of reporting, projecting future trends, and statistical investigation. The centralizing of different forms of information in a common place, which is an integral part of a CRM system, does not occur in BI systems.

Most organizations rely on BI analysis to provide them with information that helps leaders make better decisions to help business. The major difference between BI and CRM is that CRM integrates information with business decisions. CRM combines data analysis with the deployment of specific business modules. In contrast, most BI environments use data to prove theories and other needed metrics for analysis.

Both CRM and BI system share so much functionality and modules within organizations such as analytics, data repositories, and data mining, as well as the benchmarking of information. BI can only recognize important trends and display various types of important metrics. However, a CRM system can act on this information while directly incorporating it into other departments of an organization.

For instance, both CRM and BI tools can analyze information to identify what element of the data makes up a key market to explore. The CRM can then forward this information to the sales department and come up with ways for exploiting this new information. The success of this information flow will in turn be evaluated and refined for meeting organization goals. This capability is another key distinction between a CRM system and Business Intelligence. A CRM merges information analysis with the implementation of actions based on that information. BI will grant access to that same information but will leave the flow of this information, and analysis of its benefits, to the user’s judgment.

To conclude, BI and CRM systems are moving beyond analyzing what happened in the past to trying to influence organization decisions for future growth by providing information that is instant, more practical, more handy, and more user-friendly.

What is Business Intelligence

In today’s world, information is power. It is important that information flow accurately and effectively for the functioning of any organization. However in the past organizations concealed information with only some critical folks, who used it for important decision making about competitors, future directions, response to regulation and many other factors vital for business functioning.

However, with so much information available, it is critical to be able to filter out the right information in short amount of time. In addition, the market environment changes so frequently that incorrect information may lead to lost business opportunity. Sorting through multiple emails, documents, reports, and enterprise databases to find data for right decisions is challenging. The evolution of Business Intelligence (BI) has enabled organizations, by providing concise results using data from various sources. In addition, the user- friendly representation of data clearly indentifies growth, opportunity and many more areas that require attention.

BI refers to methodologies used in identifying, researching, and interpreting data. Organizations rely on BI to view, analyze, understand, and project information relevant to the performance of a business. The purpose of BI is to help organizations make better decisions to help business with any challenges and grown. BI software’s and various solutions accomplish this by making it simpler to accumulate, view, and split the data. Thus, leaders can identify issues, find new opportunities and challenges, and improve organization performance to meet business goals.

BI solutions can be very broad, or they can focus on specific functions, such as trade volume analysis, revenue spends analysis, prospective customer analysis, financial compensation analysis and many more. Some organizations rely on spreadsheets and other multiple tools to process information. Nevertheless, as organizations grow, the amount of information leaders need to understand increases due to new services, upcoming opportunities, hidden markets, increasing investments and many more. Business leaders need to be able to understand and direct investments in operations, sales, marketing, and other departments to streamline business growth. BI solutions offer multiple dashboards and reporting tools that make it easier and less time consuming to understand and analyze the data during short time at any point of time.

Business intelligence solutions give organizations a way to reorganize and combine the data group, investigation, and reporting process. BI solutions are built on a common platform, so everyone involved in the organization hierarchy can be setup to get an actual view of the data. To conclude BI aims to support better decision-making of organization and improve business.
