what is involved in writing a proposal for a web solution

If you are an entrepreneur/freelancer, then setting up fancy website might be easy. But making more money by designing website needs another skill. That is the ability to express to prospective clients through a business proposal. A common scenario employed by employers looking for designers is to advertize on a website/newspaper or send out Request for proposal to prospective candidates.  In such case, the best way you can respond is by writing a detailed business proposal.

The Web site design proposals should highlight the competencies/experiences of the designer and also the differentiation factor i.e USP (Universal Selling Point) compared to other applicants. The simplest proposal answer the basic questions such as the cost, time to build, past design examples, testimonials etc.  Depending on the expertise of prospective clients, it is possible that they might be looking for response in an email rather than a formalized document. Irrespective of the type of response, here are some basic information that should be part of each proposal

You can also have separate sections such as Preliminary Research, Web Design, Database Design, Front End Programming, Quality Assurance etc to explain the detailed step in which the final product will be built. i.e Each Project phase can be highlighted. This section can be helpful in highlighting your expertise as well as any assumptions that you are making while detailing the steps.

Fees

Here you state the cost that the clients need to pay for the work that you will be doing. Payment can be either based on project phases or upfront fees etc. It is advisable to state it clearly.

Estimated Delivery Date

You should indicate the timeline for completing each phase of the project and the deliverables in each phase.  It is possible that you might need some data from customer such as client company image etc. Any impact due to the missed deadline from the customer should be highlighted so that all stakeholders are clear on the impact.

Once you have put in the above information, you can highlight to clients the possible next steps and give him your contact information on which you can be reachable for any further queries. You can even schedule a meeting to discuss any further questions or clarifications after their initial review.

All the above sections, though look easy based on title, it might actually be not so. Before filling any of the above section, you need do your homework. Some of the points which can be considered for doing the pre-work are

How To Increase Exposure To Your Business with Youtube Marketing

As business becomes more competitive, it is imperative to expect change and explore new business opportunities using social media tools such as Youtube Marketing. But growth will be muted if social media is not used effectively as a marketing tool. Social media landscapes have evolved in 2011 creating new opportunities, strategies for brands etc. Though Facebook and Twitter are leading the buzz in social media, Youtube marketing is the most valuable video marketing tool.

With about 1 in 3 humans on the net globally (490 million) users on you tube, you tube offers a platform for business to connect with customers (existing and future), display expertise and market products. Youtube marketing will not only help to increase sales, but also build business brand and loyal customer base.

As a business which is yet to explore the benefits of social media, the first question is the budget that needs to be set aside for marketing on new platform.  But one big advantage of You tube is that it is a free service. If you are thinking free service as trial or demo version, then it is incorrect. You tube is free service which is as effective as any other paid marketing tools. As you learn more about this tool, your business will have fewer reasons to complain about Youtube marketing but more reason to applause its benefits.

Once you finalize that Youtube marketing will be the next milestone for your business to work on, it is important to understand how to derive the maximum benefits.  Everyday 48 hours of video are uploaded every minute, resulting in nearly 8 years of content uploaded every day on Youtube. With so many videos, in order to get maximum exposure it is important that business get a dedicated channel for themselves on Youtube. A Youtube channel provides an innovative medium ensuring follower get updates on new posted contents.

When you are new, you will find lot of so called you tube experts who offer advises on how to effectively use you tube.  But before getting any external advises, the core business team should do some little research on Youtube marketing. Youtube has created a tool (https://ads.youtube.com/keyword_tool) to help in researching product or services people are looking for.  By using this tool you can find what is popular and accordingly customize your videos so that people will hit them.

Marketing teams effort on creating impressive videos are of not much use, if users do not see them. Hence tag your Youtube marketing videos with appropriate keywords so that they can be easily searched and business can effectively market the product or service offered.  Also the keywords can be used when adding video on YouTube as a video title.  The title of video helps search engines know what your video is all about and index your video accordingly.

Once the videos are searched, it is important that viewers know what they should expect from the Youtube marketing video before they click the play button. Hence descriptions of the videos updated on you tube are important. Good Descriptions are an advertisement to attract more hits and should be free of any grammatical errors. The first 60 characters of description should include important text, including your website address. After 60 characters of the description, you tube cuts the rest of the description and adds an ellipsis.

Once people watch the Youtube marketing videos, it is important that they know what next. Hence the message should be clear in videos on what next. For instance the number of people on your channel and another readers channel might be different. So if the person likes your video he can embed this video, providing exposure to video outside your network. You tube also provides features such as comment on video, rate video etc that helps in promoting the business.

Videos are composed of several keywords. Some keywords are explicit i.e. given as tags, while others are implicit i.e. viewers mind.  Hence Youtube Marketing Videos highlighting ‘how to’ helps the viewers imagination on business product or service.   But remember that videos should have appropriate content. You tube videos can be marked in appropriate if some products video violate terms.

Finally videos on Youtube cannot be use as an alternative to other marketing mediums. Rather Youtube marketing should be used as an input to strategy of overall marketing. With millions of you tube users auto sharing the video on social networks (Facebook, Twitter, Google + etc), Youtube marketing is a powerful tool to provide maximum exposure on Social Media.
